Vibey Shortbread

Your fav classic shortbread recipe, or ours:

  • 10 tbs butter
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ts vanilla
  • 1 ts cardamom *when you feel fancy
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ ts salt


  1. Using a mixer, beat butter and vanilla extract until creamed.
  2. Add powdered sugar and salt; mix.
  3. Scrape bowl down and add flour while beating on low.
    Scrape the bowl and mix until combined.

Divide the dough for the amount of colors you wish to incorporate, Keeping non-colored portion as well. Mix in food coloring. Once the color is mixed into each portion, roll out into cylendars. Gather/stack together and roll. Cut the log in half and fold together again, rolling. This has now merged the seperate rolls together to make one larger log. The more you roll the more blended it will become. Its up to you! Have fun with it.


  1. Shape the dough into a rectangular prism, wrap in plastic and chill until firm. At least an hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F (177C). Cut the prism into ½ inch thick slices
  3. Place slices onto a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes, rotating baking sheet in the oven halfway through.
  5. Transfer to a wire sheet to cool.
